Knoxville, Tennessee · In planning
A new day starts here.
Knoxville already has sober living houses, employers willing to give people a chance, churches that want to help, and providers who do good work. The Gathering Table is being built to connect them, and to build our own community where residents live, work, worship, and eventually help run the businesses that employ them.
We are not open yet and are not placing anyone in housing or jobs. We are building the network and the foundation first.

How would you like to help?
Find your seat at the table.
I have a house
A recovery residence, or a property that could become one.
Partner as a house →I have a business
You'd consider hiring and training people in recovery.
Partner as an employer →I'm a church, provider, or professional
Prayer, clinical care, legal, mentoring, trades, volunteers.
Join the network →I want to give
Sponsor a Seat: any amount, once or monthly.
Give →I want to invest
Support our businesses with capital, loans, or expertise.
Learn more →I want to pray
Join the prayer team. Churches and small groups welcome.
Pray with us →Why we exist
Recovery lasts when people have a home, a job, and a family around them.
Too many people leave treatment with nowhere stable to live, no recent work history, and no one in their corner. Knoxville has good recovery programs, and some train people and place them in outside jobs. The pieces are here, but they are often disconnected from each other.
We want to be the thread between them, and to build something that doesn't exist here yet: a program where residents don't just get hired, they help run the businesses, train the people who come after them, and in time move into management.
We are built on the Twelve Steps and Celebrate Recovery, and on the belief that every person has a seat at the table.
Our path
Connect first. Build second. Own over time.
Connect the network
Now. We bring together sober living houses, employers, churches, and providers under shared standards, with us as the coordinator.
Open our own house
Next. A residence for people in recovery, opened only when its first months of costs are committed.
Build our own businesses
Then. TGT-owned businesses that employ and train residents, starting with a food truck, each opened only when the funding is committed.
Where we are right now
Honest status
The plan
Business plan, funding strategy, and program design are drafted.
The foundation
Forming our entities, assembling a board, applying for IRS recognition, and building the partner network.
What comes next
Nothing is open yet. We are building the network of partner houses and employers, and we hope to open our own house and businesses as funding is committed.
